PAULINE DAVID

Pauline David was born in 1988. A graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Nancy (ENSAN) and holder of a master’s degree in global design with a specialization in glass arts, she has developed a practice at the intersection of architecture, scenography, and light installations. “I draw inspiration from my surroundings—from day to night, from the ordinary to the extraordinary—to create an ever-evolving environment.”

For Pauline David, architecture is above all a matter of light. Her work explores the impact of natural cycles – sun, moon, seasons, tides – on human perception. Time, circadian rhythm, celestial phenomena and invisible phenomena form the guiding thread of her artistic research.

In 2014, she founded Light is More, a structure through which she develops her installation and research projects around light.

Pauline David conceives of light as a living material, capable of activating a space both physically and emotionally. Her works explore the passage of time, the relationship between darkness and revelation, cosmology and natural phenomena, and light as a sensory frequency.

“My work is informed by an awareness of the effect that light can have on humans and their environment. ”

Her installations, which straddle the boundaries of land art, video art, and light sculpture, create immersive environments where science, poetry, and contemplation converge.
